The Nintendo Wii is a video game console that competes directly with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation 3. The Financial Times reported on September 12, 2007 that the Wii is the sales leader of the 3 based on figures from Enterbrain, NPD Group and GfK. The Wii is the successor to the Nintendo GameCube and is able to play all official GameCube games as well as its own. Nintendo also made available a lot of original Nintendo, Sega and Turbo Graffix 16 games via an online shop they developed. They are continually releasing more of the original games to the online market as well as allowing other people to develope specifically for that shop. What sets the Wii aside is its revolutionary controller that allows the games to detect movements in the controller and mimic them onscreen.

One of the best things about the Wii is the simple fact that the console actually includes a game when you purchase it. It comes with Wii sports. Not only do they include a game, but it is one of the best games available for the Wii. From day 1 when you pop Wii Sports in for the first time, you will be amazed at how much fun you are having. After a year of owning the Wii and having many other games for it, you can still pop in Wii Sports and have a blast. The competition has always said the Wii couldn't compete because of the lower graphics capabilities, however, they forgot that gaming isn't about graphics as much as it is about pure enjoyment. And that is what the developers of the Wii and the games have focused on. Fun games that keep you coming back no matter what age you are. Young and old alike will love the Wii for years to come. TheKlassen says that's Wiirific!
