This movie is so well done, in 1985 when it was released it grossed more than $380 million worldwide, won the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film and an Academy Award. President Ronald Reagan even quoted the film in his 1986 State of the Union Address, and in 2007 the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. This is the film that launched the franchise with another 2 movies to follow, as well as an animated series and a theme park ride. One of the things that makes this movie so good is the incredible casting. Each and every character is believable in their role. Some movies cause you to jolt back to reality with poorly cast and scripted roles, but not this one. You will stay engrossed the whole time. While I could ramble on about how good it is and quote every line from the movie, I will leave it simply at "Great Scott! You have to go see this film!"
