I have been a huge fan of this series since I discovered it on the Gameboy Advance at the "Geek Store". I've spent many a nerdy night strategizing over which units I would advance and which would protect the entrance. Oh my... I may need help. The beatuiful thing about this series is that they change very little from game to game. Where Final Fantasy loves to make a bunch of changes and try new things in each new game, Fire Emblem decides to keep it virtually the same. Allowing people who have loved the game in the past, to automatically fall in love with the new one. They simply change characters, maps and story. In this case, that is the right choice because I believe the have the gameplay done perfectly already. The gameplay consists of various levels; each consisting of a grid type map. Each character can move a set number of spaces per turn and has his own unique set of skills and weapons. Being turn based, you are allowed to move all your men on your turn and equip weapons, trade items, or talk to various characters. Once you are happy with your moves, you end your turn and the computer moves all of their men. Simply flawless. If you have ever played the game of Risk, and thought, yeah, I love to strategize for hours. Then this is the next game you need to play. You can thank me later with a case of your favourite beer (unless it is O'Douls).
