The 2005 Dodge Dakota is (or should I say was) the new truck in the Dakota family. It was the first to get the new body styling, which I'm sure you've all seen around by now. The available options gives the purchaser plenty of choices to customize their truck to their liking. It shares its platform with the Dodge Durango. This model is longer, wider and more powerful than the past models have been. That's enough of the boring description.

One of the most prominent features of this is that it is a small pickup. Therefore it doesn't handle like a full size, which is a godsend when commuting around a city. This truck actually has better handling than many regular and full size cars. The test model (aka. my truck) has the V8 magnum engine with tow package and power everything else. The fuel economy, while crappy, is significantly better than full size pickups. With the ability to tow 7,100 lbs, this truck is a handy unit to tow the boat to the lake (hopefully next year) or haul a load of garbage to the dump. The best feature however, is the cupholders, which are by far the best cupholders in the world! While you are hauling garbage or towing your boat or just making your usual 7/11 run, you can rest assured knowing that your double gulp will fit securely in the cupholder. No more asking your friend to hold it while you drive and him filling your passanger seat with delicious fountain pop (sorry Sjostromi). So, while I am giving this only 1 thumb up, you can believe me that this truck is worth every penny you pay for it.
